Keith M. Baumgarten, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at the Orthopedic Institute in Sioux Falls, S.D., has been elected as a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, reports the Argus Leader.
Dr. Baumgarten also serves as the head team physician for the Sioux Falls Stampede, the Sioux Falls Canaries and Dakota State University. He has also served as an associate physician with the New York Mets and has professional experience providing medical support to all three major-league teams in St. Louis.
Dr. Baumgarten was presented with the Charles S. Neer Award in 2011 and 2013 for the best shoulder research performed those years. His specialties include ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, sports medicine and more.
