Pat McKenzie, MD, has been meeting with Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers every day this week in preparation for a big playoff game versus the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, says a Fox Sports report.
Rodgers' issue? His left calf.
Dr. McKenzie, the team's physician, and Mr. Rodgers have been working with acupuncture and, the Packers' head office said, might test out various kinds of wraps come game day.
Mr. Rodgers injured his left calf Week 16 against Tampa Bay and aggravated the calf — this time in a different spot on the same calf — against Detroit in the final week of the regular season.
Both the quarterback and Packers head coach Mike McCarthey said they expect the MVP quarterback to start Sunday.
Dr. McKenzie has been the Packers' team physician since the early 1990s. He received the Jerry "Hawk" Rhea Award as the NFL's top physician in 2011.
