Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Kris Stowers, MD, a sports medicine physician for Florida State University, was injured in a collision earlier this year while covering an FSU football game, and he's now recovering from his injuries, according to a Tallahassee Democrat report.

Dr. Stowers suffered three cracked ribs and a torn hamstring after one of the players went out-of-bounds and pinned him against one of the stationary bikes. He had previously provided medical attention to the player last season when the player broke his ankle.

The collision was an accident and Dr. Stowers continues his road to recovery. He'll travel with the team to the Rose Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 1, 2015.
