Study: Co-administered Traumeel & Zeel effective in reducing knee osteoarthritis pain

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

According to a study, presented at the American College of Rheumatology 2014 Annual Meeting, co-administered Traumeel and Zeel intra-articular injections are safe and effective treatments for moderate to severe knee osteoarthritis pain as compared to an intra-articular placebo.

The multi-center study included 232 patients with moderate-to-severe chronic knee osteoarthritis who were randomized to three weekly IA injections of either Traumeel and Zeel or saline.

The study found that patients who were given Traumeel and Zeel experienced significant reductions in pain. Also, the study does not report any related serious adverse events. Adverse events were generally mild and reported as unrelated to treatment.
