Under the four year agreement, HSS will provide consulting services to Hospital Alvorada, focusing on the orthopedic surgery department. The 232-bed general hospital dedicates an entire floor to orthopedic surgery and is part of the Amil network.
Educational programs will now be available to Hospital Alvorada staff through the HSS eAcademy, offering symposia, seminars, videos and continuing medical education courses online. There will also be special offerings developed for physicians, physical therapists and nurses affiliated with Amil hospitals.
This is the second partnership for HSS in Brazil; in 2013 HSS signed an agreement with Amil to provide services in quality management, clinical pathways and academic training to an orthopedic specialty hospital in Rio de Janeiro.
