Marc Philippon, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., will perform hip surgery on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, according to a report from the Columbian.
Dr. Philippon will perform a microscopic surgery on Mr. Aldridge's right hip to repair a slight labral tear. Mr. Aldridge has been suffering from hip pain throughout this past season, but the source of his pain was not discovered until a recent MRI was taken.
Mr. Aldridge is expected to spend two to four months recovering and may return to play in time to participate on the U.S. Olympic Team for the London Games in July.
