Kohl's department stores donated $313,000 to Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital Pediatric Sports Medicine Center, a portion of which will be put towards preventing ACL injury among young athletes, according to an Orlando Sentinel report.
The Hospital's SportsMedtrics program is focused on teaching girls strategies for safely jumping higher and landing to prevent ACL injury. Boys are also able to participate in the program and may benefit from the training as well.
The donation also supports the hospital's Pay It Forward program, which sends medical professionals into Central Florida communities to teach parents, coaches and young athletes about sports injury prevention and treatment.
