Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jose Contreras recently received a platelet-rich plasma injection to relieve pain in his right forearm, according to an MLB report.
Mr. Contreras decided to receive the injection after a meeting with Phillies team physician Michael Ciccotti, MD, where they discussed his strained right forearm. Mr. Contreras has been on the disabled list since late June and his return to play remains uncertain.
