Marc Philippon, MD, a sports medicine and hip surgeon at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., will perform a procedure to repair labral tears in Seattle Storm forward Lauren Jackson, according to a report from The Seattle Times.
The Seattle Storm, a women's professional basketball team, won the 2010 WNBA title and were recently recognized by President Obama for the accomplishment. Ms. Jackson suffered the injury in June during a game in Tulsa where she locked legs with another player.
Ms. Jackson will be on crutches for four weeks after the procedure and will complete 12 weeks of rehabilitation.
