New Ohio Legislation Allows Team Physicians to Treat Visiting Teams

The Ohio Senate has unanimously passed a bill that would allow a licensed physician from out-of-state to treat members of a visiting athletic team participating in an Ohio sporting event, according to a Telegraph-Forum report.

The team physician or other medical professional would be able to treat the visiting team's coaching, communications, equipment or sports medicine staff as well as members of the band, cheerleaders and mascot.
