State College, Pa.-based University Orthopedics Center and DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare signed an agreement as part of a restructuring plan for Penn Highlands' orthopedic surgery service line, according to a report by The Progress.

The plan includes bringing UOC physicians to provide care at the health system's DuBois facility. UOC currently includes 15 orthopedic surgeons who provide care for patients with musculoskeletal injuries as well as chronic and degenerative orthopedic disorders.

"University Orthopedics has long been recognized throughout their service area as a leader in high-quality orthopedic services," Penn Highlands CEO Raymond Graeca said to The Progress. "By adding their diverse resources, like a large number of surgeons, the exceptional access that patients are given and the unmatched customer service that they have provided over the years, we believe that the addition of University Orthopedics will bring great strength to our orthopedic service line."
