The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons released three new clinical practice guidelines for hip fractures in patients 65 years and older, anterior cruciate ligament injuries and hip dysplasia in infants.
The guidelines include evidence-based recommendations for diagnosing and treating the aforementioned conditions. The recommendations are meant to be an educational tool for healthcare providers.
The guidelines have been endorsed by numerous professional organizations, such as the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and Society for Pediatric Radiology.
