Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics turned 15 on July 1.

"This anniversary is truly an incredible milestone for us," said Resurgens Co-President Kay Kirkpatrick, MD. "Atlanta is such an amazing place for Resurgens to call home, and we value every day that we are able to serve the wonderful people who live here. We are proud to celebrate the past 15 years, but we are even more excited at what the future holds for us and the residents we serve."

The practice officially opened in 1999 by a group of seven physicians led by John C. Garrett, MD. Here are eight things to know about Resurgens Orthopaedics:

1. The practice is the largest in Georgia with 21 offices and six ambulatory surgery centers.

3. The group employs more than 1,000 physicians and employees who gathered for a picnic to celebrate this milestone.

4. Douglas Lundy, MD, recently joined Dr. Kirkpatrick as co-president. "In the uncertain world of changing healthcare, Resurgens will not forget the ideas we were founded on and we will continue to serve in order to stay on the forefront of our orthopedic services," he says.

5. Resurgens founded the Resurges Charitable Foundation 13 years ago to give back to the Atlanta Community.
