Ron Taylor, MD, former Major League Baseball pitcher and team physician for the Toronto Blue Jays, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a recent game, according to an MLB report.
Dr. Taylor was recognized for his 35 years of services as team physician. During his 16-year career as a pitcher, Dr. Taylor played on two World Series teams — the St. Louis Cardinals in 1964 and the New York Mets in 1969 — as a relief pitcher. He later earned his medical degree at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine and became a physician with the Blue Jays in 1977, shortly after finishing his training.
