Edward Khalfayan, MD, team medical director for the Seattle Mariners, recently performed shoulder surgery on relief pitcher Dan Cortes, according to a report from The Seattle Times.
Mr. Cortes sustained the injury during the off-season and he has been unable to participate in winter ball. Dr. Khalfayan's surgery repaired rotator cuff damage and a partial tear of the biceps tendon.
