Flames force New York City-based orthopedic office to close until further notice — 5 noteworthy points

After breaking into a New York City-based medical office building, a burglar torched it to conceal his trespassing, according to New York Daily News.

Here are five noteworthy points:

 

1. The building housed one of the Brooklyn Premier Orthopedics offices, which will be closed until further notice.

 

2. Spine surgeon Jonathan Lewin, MD, Brooklyn Premier Orthopedics' managing partner, commented they are currently contacting and rescheduling their patients at their other office locations.

 

3. Brooklyn Premier Orthopedics offers sports medicine services, pain management services, total joint replacements, spine services, fracture and trauma services as well as hand surgery.

 

4. Police caught the 49-year-old burglar as he raced away from the blazing building slightly before 11 p.m. on Sept. 14.

 

5. The building owner notified police when he saw the burglar enter the office via the security cameras linked to his phone.

 

6. Charged with arson, burglary, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and trespassing, the burglar has multiple previous arrests.
