Due to recruitment difficulty, Harrisburg, Pa.-based PinnacleHealth will no longer employ neurosurgeons, according to Penn Live.
Here are five things to know:
1. PinnacleHealth entered into a contract with Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for two neurosurgeons.
2. The Hershey neurosurgeons will perform surgery at PinnacleHealth facilities.
3. The neurosurgeons will likely begin performing surgeries at PinnacleHealth within three months.
4. Unable to offer comprehensive neurosurgical services, PinnacleHealth decided to partner with the academic medical center.
5. A pending merger between Pinnacle and Hershey exists, but the Federal Trade Commission is opposing it.
