The Joint Commission has recertified Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks for spine surgery, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Here are three quick notes:
1. NNMC is the only local hospital to earn the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval in spine surgery.
2. The certification went into effect on April 28.
3. NNMC is a state-licensed 108-bed acute care hospital. A subsidiary of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services owns and operates the hospital.
