Dr. Howard Weiner is new chief of neurosurgery at Texas Children's: 5 things to know

Houston-based Texas Children's Hospital appointed Howard L. Weiner, MD, chief of neurosurgery, according to Katy Magazine.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. Weiner specializes in refractory epilepsy and tuberous sclerosis complex.

 

2. He treats pediatric brain and spinal tumors, congenital malformations, tetheredcords, chiari malformations, craniosynostosis, hydrocephalus, spina bifida and spasticity.

 

3. Dr. Weiner is also a surgery professor at Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine.

 

4. After obtaining his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City, Dr. Weiner completed his residency at New York University Medical Center, and another neurosurgery residency at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.

 

5. He completed his pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at New York University Medical Center.
