Buffalo, N.Y.-based UBMD Physicians Group named neurosurgeon Kevin J. Gibbons, MD, executive director.
Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Gibbons was also named senior associate dean for clinical affairs at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo (N.Y.).
2. Dr. Gibbons currently serves as associate professor and vice chair in the department of neurosurgery at State University of New York at Buffalo.
3. He is also medical director, operational performance and physician director of surgical services at Buffalo General Medical Center and Gates Vascular Institute in Buffalo. Additionally, he serves as chief of neurosurgery for Kaleida Health, also in Buffalo.
4. Dr. Gibbons has served on the UBMD Management Council and has chaired the Great Lakes Health Professional Steering Committee.
5. His research includes the surgical treatment of brain tumors, spinal and pituitary tumors as well as complex cervical disorders. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for Neurosurgery and Critical Care Medicine.
