Oxford University Press journals adds Pain Medicine — 4 highlights

Oxford University Press is partnering with the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the Spine Intervention Society and the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists to publish Pain Medicine.

Here are four highlights:

 

1. Pain Medicine is a multidisciplinary journal dedicated to pain clinicians, educators and researchers with an interest in pain from various medical specialties such as pain medicine, anesthesiology, family practice, internal medicine, interventional pain, interventional spine, neurology, neurological surgery, orthopedic spine surgery, psychiatry, rheumatology and rehabilitation medicine, as well as related health disciplines such as psychology, neuroscience, nursing, nurse practitioner and physical therapy.

 

2. This publication reflects the rapid growth in pain science and practice, as well as the field’s need for policy, ethical and forensic commentary on pain, pain management and pain's impact on society.

 

3. Rollin M. Gallagher, MD, editor-in-chief, said pain research and care are at a critical tipping point, and it’s important to promote basic, translational and clinical pain research to find new treatments.

 

4. Oxford Journals is a division of Oxford University Press, which publishes over 300 academic and research journals covering a broad range of subject areas.
