Dr. Isaac Moss 1st in Connecticut to perform spine surgery using Mazor Robotics' Renaissance system: 4 notes

The UConn Musculoskeletal Institute at UConn Health in Farmington is the first in the state to offer spine surgery with the new Mazor Robotics Renaissance Guidance System, according to a UConn Today report.

Here are four notes:

 

1. Isaac Moss, MD, of UConn Health, will be New England's and Connecticut's first surgeon to use the new Renaissance Guidance System.

 

2. Dr. Moss will use the new technology for a spine surgery at UConn John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington.

 

3. Dr. Moss is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery at the Comprehensive Spine Center of the UConn Musculoskeletal Institute.

 

4. UConn Health will offer use of the system for a number of spinal procedures including biopsies, thoracic and lumbar spinal fusion as well as spinal reconstruction.
