Albuquerque, N.M.-based Net Medical Xpress Solutions, a provider of telemedicine solutions, released its digital paper, Telemed Building Blocks technology for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

1. The company's digital paper involves a custom link on a hospital desktop to request a neurology or neurosurgery consultation.
2. Once requested, a form is electronically submitted to Net Medical's call center. The consult is expedited by notifying the telemedicine team and finding the appropriate provider.
3. The Building Blocks technology is designed to eliminate the time-consuming process of nurses calling for consultations and then retyping the information to physicians in emergency situations.
4. Telemed Building Blocks will be implemented in all University of New Mexico ACCESS grant hospitals using Net Medical telemedicine technology.
