Mazor Robotics sells 100th robotic spine system — 5 things to know

Mazor Robotics received its 100th order for the Renaissance robotic spine surgery system.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. UConn Health in Farmington, Conn., purchased the 100th system for its John Dempsey Hospital.

 

2. Mazor has sold four systems in the fourth quarter of 2015 so far; the third was installed at a pediatric hospital in Texas.

 

3. In the third quarter, Mazor sold three Renaissance systems in the United States and experienced an 18 percent revenue decrease compared to the same period last year. The United States generated $4.3 million in revenue while international revenue was flat at $700,000.

 

4. Mazor reported a third quarter net loss at $5.2 million, or $0.12 per share.

 

5. At the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Global Forum, Mazor presented data on its PROlif Lateral Solution system, showing the procedure on a cadaver for the first time.
