Neurosurgeon Cynthia Zane Africk, MD, joined FirstHealth Neurosurgery, according to a Daily Health report.

1. Dr. Africk previously practiced at The Clinical Neuroscience Institute in Dayton, Ohio. She has more than 20 years of experience in spine, brain and peripheral nerves.
2. In addition to her clinical practice, she was a clinical professor of surgery and assistant clinical professor of neurology at Wright State University in Dayton.
3. She earned her medical degree at Loyola University of Chicago-Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill., and completed a neurosurgery fellowship at UCLA School of Medicine.
4. She has an undergraduate degree in psychobiology and completed a neurosurgery residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
5. The neurosurgeons at FirstHealth treat brain and spine issues, including spinal fractures, lumbar disc disease and brain tumors.
