Summit Orthopedics, Institute for Low Back and Neck Care to merge: 5 key notes

Apple Valley, Minn.-based Summit Orthopedics and Bloomington, Minn.-based Institute for Low Back and Neck Care are planning to merge in January, according to a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal report.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. The combined practices will build a 65,000-square-foot surgery and treatment center in Eagan, Minn.

 

2. The  new center is expected to open in early 2017.

 

3. Summit Orthopedics includes around 650 employees, while Institute for Low Back and Neck Care has about 80.

 

4. The combined businesses will have approximately 720 employees.

 

5. All current offices of both practices will remain open.
