Neurosurgeon Madhavan Pisharodi, MD, received the Kerala Association of Rio Grande Valley's 2015 Life Time Achievement Award, according to The Monitor.
Here are six notes:
1. Dr. Pisharodi is a board-certified neurosurgeon at the Pisharodi Clinic in Brownsville, Texas.
2. He received the award for his excellent performance in spine surgery.
3. The neurosurgeon secured 52 patents regarding brain and spine research.
4. So far, the FDA has approved four of these patents, which involved spinal implants.
5. One of these approved implants is called Saral, which improves the cervical plate system, locking attaching screws inside the plate so additional screws aren't needed.
6. The FDA has approved his fourth patent for clinical trials, which is designed to improve simple discectomy.
