Here are seven spine surgeons and neurosurgeons in the news this past week.

Kevin Pauza, MD, founding partner of Texas Spine and Joint Hospital, received 16 medical technology patents for a biologic disc regrowth treatment.

 

Sanjay K. Khurana, MD, a Los Angeles Spine Group board-certified spine surgeon, spoke to WABC Eyewitness News about the AIRO spinal fusion technique.

 

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago led by Richard G. Fessler, MD, PhD, used stem cells to repair spine cords in a clinical trial. They think stem cells could also help restore some nerve function.

 

Saint Francis Medical Center and Cape Spine & Neurosurgery in Cape Girardeau, Mo. welcomed neurosurgeon Kaywan Gamadia, DO.
