Here are ten spine surgeons and neurosurgeons in the news this past week.

Jessica Shellock, MD, of Texas Back Institute and James Billys, MD, of Florida Orthopaedic Institute in North Tampa each implanted the STALIF MIDLINE II-Ti from Centinel Spine.

 

A comic book based on the muscular and skeletal systems designed by Steve Cyr, MD, is available for purchase and includes superheroes called Osteo Corps.

 

Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (Wash.) named Martin C. Holland, MD, as chief of neurosurgery and the neuroscience program.

 

Michael Roh, MD, Christopher Silva, MD, and Fred Sweet, MD, of the Rockford Spine Center all received Vitals' "Most Compassionate Doctor" awards.

 

Carl Lauryssen, MD, of NeuroTexas will head the Spinal Kinetics M6-artifical disc trial at Lakeview Regional Medical Center.

 

The new Alvarado Spine & Joint Institute welcomes Choll Kim, MD, as the co-medical director.
