Here are ten spine surgeons and neurosurgeons in the news this past week.

A grand jury indicted Christopher Duntsch, MD, who was charged with aggravated assult and injury to an elderly person. He lost his medical license in 2013.

 

Neurosurgeon Jotham Manwaring, MD, joined Intermountain Medical Group.

 

Spine surgeon Michael Dolphin, DO, was featured in the Quad Cities Times for helping patients return to their normal activity after spinal surgery.

 

Neil Badlani, MD, was named Nobilis Health's vice president of medical affairs. He will oversee areas including physician and patient outreach as well as support the company's marketing initiatives.

 

Brigham and Women's Comprehensive Spine Center at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston welcomed orthopedic surgeon Jay Zampini, MD. Dr. Zampini received his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J.

 

Mauricio A. Valdes, MD, joined Hedley Orthopaedic Institute in Phoenix. Dr. Valdes completed his orthopedic residency and fellowship in spine surgery at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

 

Minimally invasive spine surgeon Michael A. Gleiber, MD, FAAOS, relocated his headquarters and practice to downtown West Palm Beach, Fla.

 

Kaixuan Liu, MD, PhD, president of Atlantic Spine Center, offered advice to patients about how to maximize recovery following spine surgery.

 

Burgess Health Center welcomes Lee Merritt, MD, to their team. Dr. Merritt has 20 years of orthopedic trauma and complex spine surgery experience in private practice.

 

Eric Oberlander, MD, was featured in the Business Report as a spine surgeon at the Spine Hospital of Louisiana at The NeuroMedical Center, which was named on of the publication's Top 100 Private Companies.
