Here are 10 spine surgeons and neurosurgeons in the news this past week.

Richard Fessler, MD, was elected to the Lawrence University Board of Trustees.

 

Albert Telfeian, MD, performed the first endoscopic extraction of a spinal tumor for a patient while the patient was awake.

 

Weill Cornell Medical College-New York Presbyterian Hospital will welcome Ali Baaj, MD, in July. Dr. Baaj previously served as the director of the Neurosurgical Spine Program at the University of Arizona.

 

James Rice, MD, joined Clark Regional Medical Center in Kentucky.

 

Brigham and Women's Hospital named James Kang, MD, chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery.
