Here are 10 spine surgeons who were in the news over the past week.

Nitin Khanna, MD, of Spine Center Specialists, a division of Orthopedic Specialists of Northwest Indiana, gave a presentation at the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery annual meeting earlier this year. He was featured for his discussion on MAS.

 

Daniel J. Guillaume, MD, traveled to Kalinga Hospital in Odisha, Indiana, to share expertise and new clinical techniques. Dr. Guillaume is chief of pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

 

Daniel Williams, MD, of First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C., was among the first surgeons to perform a minimally invasive lumbar spine surgery with the new interbody cage from Aurora Spine called VOX.

 

Jon I. White, MD, of Irvine (Calif.) Orthopaedic Associates was discussing Centinel Spine's system, which received an allogeneic bone graft indication for its anterior lumbar product family.

 

The first patient was enrolled in the Jazz Band spine trial from Implanet at The Ohio State University where H. Francis Farhadi, MD, PhD, is the principal investigator.

 

Miller School of Medicine's James Guest, MD, PhD, was named to InVivo Therapeutics' scientific advisory board.

 

There were four lawsuits filed against UC Health system hospitals Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and West Chester Hospital in connection with allegedly unnecessary spine surgery performed by Atiq Durrani, MD.
