Mount Sinai Health System opens spine hospital — 5 things to know

Mount Sinai Health System established The Spine Hospital at Mount Sinai for personalized spine care with new technologies and proven treatments.

"At the Spine Hospital at Mount Sinai, care begins with a comprehensive evaluation followed by a detailed explanation of our findings and recommendations for the most effective treatment and post-treatment care," said Andrew Hecht, MD, chief of spine surgery for the Mount Sinai Health System and chief of spine surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital. "Patients will experience the seamless coordination of all clinical, patient education and support services that are hallmarks of spine care at Mount Sinai. We emphasize conservative care and the least invasive approaches when possible."

 

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The new hospital is located on the upper east side of Manhattan.

 

2. Orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, neurologists and pain management physicians all see patients at the new hospital.

 

3. Services at the hospital also include physical therapy, acupuncture and chiropractic care.

 

4. The physicians associated with the Spine Hospital will continue to pursue research for better patient care.

 

5. This is the first comprehensive spine hospital in New York City.
