Here are eight spine surgeons who recently received awards or promotions.

Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis named Munish C. Gupta, MD, the chief of spine surgery in the department of orthopedic surgery.

 

The Spine Health Foundation honored neurosurgeon Timothy Fullagar, MD, with the 2015 Hope Award.

 

George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, GW Hospital and The GW Medical Faculty Associates appointed Raj Rao, MD, department of orthopedic surgery chair.

 

Florida-based spine surgeon Michael Gleiber, MD, was recently featured in five magazines in South Florida, from Gulfstream Media Group, and listed among the Castle Connolly Top Doctors for this year.

 

Steven Schiff, MD, PhD, received a National Institutes of Health Director's Pioneer Award, which grants him $4.1 million for research.

 

Singapore's Hee Kit Wong, MD, PhD, was named the new co-president of the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery for 2015-2016.

 

Andrew Hecht, MD, was appointed chief of spine surgery for Mount Sinai Health System and Mount Sinai Hospital.

 

Texas Children's Hospital in Houston named John Dormans, MD, the new chief of orthopedics.
