Greece-based University of Ioannina honored Alvin Crawford, MD, a spine surgeon from Cincinnati.
Dr. Crawford is the professor emeritus of orthopedic surgery and is best known for his advances in pediatric spine surgery. He was the first African-American president of the Scoliosis Research Society and was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Throughout his career, Dr. Crawford has received several prestigious awards, including the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and Lifetime Achievement Award from SRS.
