10 spine surgeons on the move in March 2015

Here are 10 spine surgeons and neurosurgeons who made or announced transitions in March 2015.

Glenn B. Anderson, MD, joined Houston Methodist Neurological Institute at Willowbrook. His practice focuses on brain tumors, spine surgery, cerebral aneurysms and nerve issues.

 

Laser Spine Institute welcomed Reginald J. Davis, MD, who will perform spine surgery at all seven Laser Spine Institute surgical center locations across the United States.

 

Edgewood, Ky.-based Commonwealth Orthopaedic Centers welcomed John B. Jacquemin, MD, to its physician team. He previously practiced with Cincinnati-based Mercy Health Physicians.

 

Three St. Louis-based spine surgeons will be leaving their posts at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine to join New York-Presbyterian Hospital to establish a comprehensive spine center. The surgeons are Lawrence Lenke, MD, Daniel Riew, MD, and Ronald Lehman, MD.

 

Neurosurgeon Ziya Gokaslan, MD, will leave his post as director of the Neurosurgical Spine Center and vice chairman of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore to become the chairman of the neurosurgery department at Alpert Medical School and chief of neurosurgery at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital and clinical director of the Norman Prince Neurosciences Institute effective July 1.

 

Charles Kuntz IV, MD, of Cincinnati-based Mayfield Clinic, passed away unexpectedly in early March.

 

Neurosurgeon Martin Gryfinski, MD, joined SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health, as a general neurosurgeon practicing the full scope of cranial and spinal neurosurgery with a special interest in peripheral nerve surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery.

 

Board-certified neurosurgery Jeannette Liu, MD, joined the Longview Regional Medical Center staff after practicing at Berkshire Health Systems in Massachusetts and serving in the U.S. Air Force.
