NASS to Congress: No more SGR patches; Pass new payment act today

Spine

The National Association of Spine Specialists supports the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015.

The House of Representatives is voting on the act today, which has an impact on the sustainable growth rate for Medicare payments. The new legislation replaces the SGR with a different payment system designed for stability and reducing the administrative burden for physicians.

If Congress doesn't pass the legislation by March 31, physicians face either steep cuts or another patch.

"The time for talk and patches is over, so let's pass this bill to ensure that our nation's most vulnerable patients and seniors have access to the best quality care as soon as possible," said John Finkenberg, MD, NASS Advocacy Council Director.
