Here are 10 spine and neurosurgeons who were in the news this week.

Ziya Gokaslan, MD, will leave his post as director of the Neurosurgical Spine Center and vice chairman of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore to become the Alpert Medical School chairman of the neurosurgery department and chief of neurosurgery at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital as well as clinical director of the Norman Price Neurosciences Institute on July 1.

 

Barth Green, MD, was in the news for his association with the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis when one of this famed patients, and program advocate, architect Michael Graves passed away.

 

The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation awarded the 2015 Clinical Research Award to Stuart L. Weinstein, MD, for his work with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis treatment.

 

Loyola Medical Center's Beejal Amin, MD, was featured in the news discussing minimally invasive spine surgery procedures.
