7 spine surgeons recently receiving honors

Here are seven spine surgeons who recently received awards or promotions.

The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation awarded the 2015 Clinical Research Award to Stuart L. Weinstein, MD, and Lori Dolan, PhD, for their work on adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

 

The Cervical Spine Research Society elected new leadership for 2014 to 2015, and named Alan S. Hilibrand, MD, president.

 

St. Petersburg (Fla.) General Hospital appointed several new members to the board of trustees, including spine surgeon Ahmad Nematbakhsh, DO.

 

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard named Walter O. Carlson, MD, to the State Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners.

 

Harry A. Bade III, MD, FACS, was named to the area Top Doctors of 2014 by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

 

Neurosurgeon Alan Scarrow, MD, was named president of Mercy Springfield Communities.

 

Michael H. Heggeness, MD, was  the recipient of the North American Spine Society's Henry Farfan Award.
