Dr. Richard Francis develops patient-to-patient ambassador program

Spine

Richard Francis, MD, of Spine Associates in Houston, developed and implemented a "Patient-to-Patient Ambassador Program" for spine surgery patients.

Through the program, volunteer former spine surgery patients make themselves available to new patients. The patient ambassador then answers any questions the new patient may have regarding their surgery experience.

Dr. Francis founded Spine Associates in 2003. He has completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and he is an active member of the North American Spine Society and Scoliosis Research Society.
