Here are 10 spine surgeons and neurosurgeons that were in the news this past week.

Darren S. Lovick, MD, surgical director of Saint Luke's Marion Bloch Neurosciences Institute, was in the news discussing the neurosurgery clinic opening in Lee's Summit, Mo.

 

Salem, Mass.-based North Shore Medical Center's department of surgery honored neurosurgeon Terence P. Doorly, MD, with the 2014 Department of Surgery Clinical Excellence and Professional Award.

 

The North American Spine Society honored Ziya Gokaslan, MD, with the Leon Wiltse Award; Raj Rao, MD, with the David Selby Award; and Michael Heggeness, MD, with the Henry Farfan Award.

 

Rothman Institute President and spine surgeon Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD, was in the news discussing the practice's partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers to become team physicians.
