Northwestern Medicine in Chicago and the Spine Center at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville have installed the EOS Imaging system at its outpatient pavilion.
The EOS system takes a full-body stereoradiographic image of patients in functional positions. The system takes two-dimensional and three-dimensional images. The radiation dosage is 50 percent to 85 percent less than digital radiology and 95 percent less than CT scans.
The system is fully in accordance with the As Low As Reasonably Achievable principle of radiation reduction.
