Dr. Joe Maroon to Serve as Medical Director for "No Limits" Mount Kilimanjaro Climb

Joe Maroon, MD, will serve as the medical director for the "No Limits" expedition, in which 10 people who are missing arms, legs or both will climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, according to a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report.

Dr. Maroon is a clinical professor of neurological surgery at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and he focuses on development of minimally invasive surgical procedures to the brain and spine and the prevention and treatment of traumatic injuries to the central nervous system. He has also been the team neurosurgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers for 20 years.
