The procedure treats degenerative disc disease and herniated discs with normal discs interspersed. Advantages include increased function and motion preservation, decreased stress on healthy discs and reduced damage to nearby discs and joints.
Dr. Schuler performed the procedure at Reston Hospital Center using the FDA-approved Bryan cervical artificial disc.
