Here are eight statistics on spine and neurosurgeon compensation based on total medical revenue, according to MGMA's Physicians Compensation and Production Survey: 2011 Report Based on 2010 Data.

Spine surgeons

1. TMR of $5 million-$10 million: $555,782
2. TMR of $10 million-$20 million: $581,344
3. TMR of $20 million-$50 million: $695,086
4. TMR of $50 million or more: $705,595

Neurosurgeons

5. TMR of $2 million-$5 million: $668,288
6. TMR of $5 million-$10 million: $561,600
7. TMR of $20 million-$50 million: $861,202
8. TMR of $50 million or more: $710,746

*Data was not available for spine surgeons with TMR of $2 million-$5 million or neurosurgeons with TMR of $10 million-$20 million.
