Two years after performing minimally invasive axial presacral Interbody fusion using AxiaLIF rods, patients continue to have favorable outcomes, according to a study published in Spine.
Researchers examined 156 patients who underwent L5-S1 interbody fusion with the presacral approach using the AxiaLIF system. Patients experienced clinical improvements in back pain severity and functional impairment through the two year follow-up.
The two-year clinical success rates on the basis of change relative to baseline of at least 30 percent were 86 percent for pain and 74 percent for function. Overall fusion rate after two years was 94 percent.
