Here are five recent spine surgeon and neurosurgeon achievements and honors.

Charles Aprill, MD, received the first International Spine Intervention Society Lifetime Achievement Award and the recognition will be named after him going forward.


 
Santa Rosa Orthopaedics in Milton, Fla., named Christian Athanassious, MD, co-director of its total spine health program.


 
Michael D. Daubs, MD, was appointed chairman of the University of Nevada's orthopedic residency program.

 

Lali Sekhon, MD, of Sierra Neurosurgery Group, was the first physician in northern Nevada to perform an oblique lumbar interbody fusion.

 

Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD, PhD, has been elected president of Philadelphia-based Rothman Institute and appointed chairman of orthopedics at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
