7 hospitals expanding spine, neurosurgery programs

Here are seven hospitals and health systems opening new spine or neurosurgery centers or expanding existing services.

Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak (Mich.) unveiled its new $22 million neuroscience center.

 

The Mission Viejo, Calif.-based Mission Hospital Golf Classic raised more than $382,000 for its neuroscience and spine institute, which is slated to open in the fall.

 

University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medicine unveiled its new $5.5 million Neuromedicine Intensive Care Unit, located in Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

 

The departments of neurosurgery and neurology at Good Samaritan Hospital and the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, both located in Los Angeles, formed a new affiliation and established the USC Neuroscience Center at Good Samaritan Hospital.

 

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine was awarded $6 million by CMS' Innovation Center for its Better Back Care program.

 

The Abington (Pa.) Health Orthopaedic & Spine Institute opened a new unit at Abington Memorial Hospital.

 

St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., unveiled a 33-bed spine and joint center.
