Dr. Richard Francis to Provide Robotic Spine Surgery Training

Richard Francis, MD, of Houston-based Spine Associates, is certified to provide training for spine surgeons in the use of the Mazor Robotics' surgical guidance system.

Dr. Francis and associate physician Neil Badlani, MD, are providing robotics training at Westside Surgical Hospital in Houston, where Dr. Francis serves as director of robotic surgery and training. Dr. Francis has performed more than 100 successful robotic operations and was one of the first surgeons in the nation to use robotic assistance in spine surgery.

 

Dr. Francis will focus on training for deformities, revisions and fusions, while Dr. Badlani will train for percutaneous cases. The first training session will be on July 1.
