Shepherd Center, Craig Hospital Partner for Spinal Cord, Brain Injury Patient Rehabilitation

Spine

Atlanta-based Shepherd Center and Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colo., announced they established an alliance to create a "center of excellence" for catastrophic injury rehabilitation, long-term acute care and medical care.

The alliance between the facilities — both primarily focused on the treatment of spinal cord and brain injury — aims at advancing patient care and improving patient access to rehabilitation services.

The alliance will utilize existing resources, such as Craig Hospital's nurse advice line call center and Shepherd Center's transition support program, and will create new portable resources.

However, both facilities will remain independent, freestanding institutions.
